Republic of Uganda

The Republic of Uganda, commonly referred to as Uganda, is located in eastern Africa, straddling the equator, bordering Kenya to the east, Tanzania and Rwanda to the south, the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west, and South Sudan to the north, covering an area of 241,550 square kilometers in total. Most of its territory lies on the East African Plateau, featuring numerous lakes and an average elevation of 1,000~1,200m, earning it the nickname "Plateau Water Town". The population is 44.3 million (2022) [16], comprising approximately 65 ethnic groups. Linguistically, the population comprises four major groups: Bantu, Nilotic, Nilo-Semitic and Sudanese; the Country is divided into 135 districts and one capital city, Kampala.

Uganda is a member of the Commonwealth, Non-Aligned Movement, African Union, East African Community (EAC), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). Uganda's GDP in 2022 was $45.7 billion, with GDP growth rate of 4.8% and per capita GDP of $1,081.
