The Democratic Republic of the Congo (La République Démocratique du Congo in French), abbreviated as DR Congo, is located in Central Africa, bordering Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania to the east, Zambia and Angola to the south, South Sudan and the Central African Republic to the north; and facing the Republic of the Congo across the Congo River to the west; with the capital city of Kinshasa, a land area of 2,344,885 square kilometers and a population of 102.3 million (2023) [6], comprising of 254 ethnic groups, belonging to the Bantu, Sudanic and Nilotic language families, and the Country is divided into 26 departments.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is classified by the United Nations as one of the world's least developed countries. The economy of DR Congo is primarily based on agriculture and mining, with underdeveloped industry. The GDP of Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2022, was $63.91 billion, with per capita GDP of $660.2 and an economic growth rate of 6.1%.
