Republic of Kenya

The Republic of Kenya, commonly referred to as Kenya, is located in East Africa, with the Equator crossing its center and the East African Rift Valley running north-south; bordering Somalia to the east, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, Ethiopia and South Sudan to the north, and the Indian Ocean to the southeast with a coastline of 536km. 18% of the land area is arable, while the rest is primarily suitable for livestock farming. The Country spans 582,646 square kilometers, with Nairobi as the capital; and is divided into 47 counties and has a population of 47.564 million (according to 2019's census), comprising 44 ethnic groups.

Kenya is a member of the UN, African Union, Non-Aligned Movement, and Group of 77, a signatory to the Lomé Convention, and a member of sub-regional organizations including IGAD, COMESA, EAC and IORA; and hosting one of the UN's four headquarters, UNEP and UN-Habitat in Nairobi. Kenya's GDP in 2021 was $110.4 billion, with per capita GDP of $2,321 and an economic growth rate of 7.5%.
