United Republic of Tanzania

The United Republic of Tanzania, abbreviated as Tanzania, is one of the cradles of ancient human civilization and is located in eastern Africa, south of the equator; bordering Kenya and Uganda to the north, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, and faces the Indian Ocean to the east. The Country covers 945,000 square kilometers, including Zanzibar's 2,657 square kilometers; and has a population of 59.1 million (2018), with Zanzibar accounting for 1.3 million, comprising 126 ethnic groups; the capital is Dodoma and the Country is divided into 31 regions.

Tanzania is a member of the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Commonwealth, the African Union, the East African Community, the Southern African Development Community, and the Indian Ocean Rim Association. Tanzania's GDP in 2021 was $70.323 billion, with GDP growth rate of 4.9% and per capita GDP of $1,190.
