Overview

Eastern Industrial Zone is the flagship project of Ethiopia's industrialization strategy, rapidly emerging as a core node of Africa’s textile industry due to low-cost labor, policy incentives and infrastructure investment. The success of Eastern Industrial Zone has created a large number of jobs in Ethiopia and reshaped the export structure of the Country, but supply chain vulnerabilities, labor rights conflicts and environmental risks constrain its sustainable development.
