On the evening of September 6, President Xi Jinping met with President Touadéra of the Central African Republic, who was in China to attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The two heads of state announced the elevation of China-Central Africa relation to a strategic partnership.
Xi Jinping pointed out that although China and the Central African Republic are separated by vast oceans, the two countries have always stood shoulder to shoulder and shared a heart-to-heart connection. China appreciates Africa's steadfast support on core interests and pledges continued assistance for the sovereignty and stability endeavors of African countries. China welcomes the Central African Republic to leverage the new measures he announced at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation to deepen bilateral economic and trade collaboration, promote integrated development of infrastructure and industries, continuously elevate cooperation across all fields, and make the strategic partnership a model for China's relations with Africa and the Global South.
Xi Jinping emphasized that the ultimate goal of Chinese modernization is to enable the people to live a better life, which also serves as both the starting point and ultimate objective of China and African countries in jointly advancing modernization. China is willing to strengthen exchanges on governance experience with Central Africa to create a better and happier life for the peoples of both countries; hope Central Africa will create a safer business environment for Chinese enterprises.
Touadéra expressed his delight at attending the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in China: “Beyond Beijing, I visited Shandong, Chongqing and Tianjin, witnessing firsthand the achievements of Chinese modernization—practical outcomes of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. I am committed to continually learning from China's successful concepts and experiences. We congratulate the successful Third Plenum of the 20th CPC Central Committee and believe China’s deepened reforms and Chinese modernization will offer Africa more development opportunities.
